Officials: Taliban lay siege to police station

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- Taliban insurgents staged a multi-pronged attack on a police station in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province early Thursday, using a suicide bomber and gunmen to lay siege to the station, government officials said. Two remotely detonated bombs also exploded nearby.
